Updates Made to Form 8867

Preparers may find an addition to Form 8867, Paid Preparer’s Earned Income Credit Checklist, a big help when trying to meet due diligence requirements.  A fourth page, Part IV, has been added, and includes a checklist of which documents were reviewed and if a copy was kept.  It is particularly important tax preparers filing EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) claims complete this section of Form 8867.
